No Christmas on Christmas Island
No-one is to blame unless we start with the mullahs in Iran who are cracking down on dissidents and Christians and the murderous thugs in Iraq and work our way down to Australia having them jailed in Indonesia and not allowing them safe passage to this country under the law.

Wikileaks: freedom of the press and the internet
To blame Wikileaks for the problems that may or not be caused by the leaking of such information is to shoot the messenger. The information is out there any intelligence agency worth its salt has probably had access to it long before Wikileaks.

Controversial Drug Given to All Guantanamo Detainees Akin to "Pharmacologic Waterboarding"
 An absolute prohibition against experiments on prisoners of war is contained in the Geneva Conventions, but President George W. Bush stripped war on terror detainees of those protections. Some of the "enhanced interrogation techniques" also had an experimental quality.

Capitalism: the Emperor without any clothes
The purpose of this essay is to dethrone the king, not kill him. Man is a tool making animal. Capitalism, money and free markets are tools. They have their strengths and they have their weaknesses. We should not idolize them. We should not let them run our society.
