Your key to our new Webdiary home.
Anyone will be able read articles and comments at Webdiary's new home. But to take advantage of the improved features on the new software, including to post a comment, you will need to register and login. As always, registration is free and you'll only need to do it once. What new features? On the new site, you will be able to tailor how you read the comments - top post newest or TPO, reply to particular posts that have taken to a certain theme thus making smaller threads within the discussion which can be view expanded (all comments) or collapsed (list of the sub-strands only). There'll be a 'printer friendly' option for a prinatble version of the article and discussion. Other registered posters will be able to send you emails, if you choose. And when you come back to a thread, you'll be notified how many new comments there are since your last visit. Neat, huh? When you first arrive at the new Webdiary and see the front page, you'll see some icons at the top left: . RegisteringName: Email address: Other details required: Logging in
Changing password and personal details Once you have logged in, you can change your cumbersome password and set a couple of preferences. Click to "edit" tab (if this is not visible, go to the "My Account" in the left hand column and click that) and you'll get this screen (with your user name and email details already filled in). It is recommended that you change your password to something easy to remember. Features You will be able to add a 'signature' to your comments. This will be a piece of text, including a link if you wish, that will appear in the comments box each time you choose to make a comment. Use this to refer people to your own webpage etc. If you want other registered Webdiary users to contact you through the email address provided you can check the box that says "Personal contact form" . If you do not want people to contact you, leave this box blank. It is blank by default. After making your changes click the button. Posting commentsYou'll be able to post comments as soon as you are registered and logged on. Click on the post comment button at the bottom of a thread for the comments box. As per Webdiary policy, all comments will be moderated before publication. Entering and posting comments on the Webdiary site is easier than ever with the features of the comments text box. Select and highlight any text then click on the corresponding icon from the menu along the top of the box to:
