Dear Margo,

I remember well, as if it was yesterday, the night of October 9, 2004. We were devastated, we were lost, as Howard beat Latham convincingly. You wrote: 

“Australia entered a new era tonight. Australians roundly rejected the once compelling appeal of 'a fair go', which must now be considered a relic of our past rather than an expression of our essence.”

So I posted to you October 9, 2004, at 11:33 PM :

As you see, tomorrow will bring me that smile that I have been keeping since that night. Because the timing is right now for the old cycle to be broken and ended as our country has learned much. And a song for you.
