Management Update 24

Site statistics

Published article count was 44 in October, up from 33 in September, although a few of those extras were notices around the Still Not Happy, John launch. Published comments were 1718 in October, up 30% from 1326 in September. Unique visitors to the site were a little higher at 25,689 in October, total visits 48,537, total page views just on half a million. Inbound traffic primarily came from peak oil sites and the 'Not Happy John' site.

We didn’t publish 28 abusive, content-free or incomprehensible comments in October: total comments intended for publication and not published: 28/1746=1.6% - I congratulate most of you* on your restraint: one of our lowest percentages ever.

* - In fact, if we eliminate messires Alan Curran, Eliot Ramsey, and Ernest William Graham, the rest of you had only 10 DNPs between you.

Finances

Cash income in October was $145 in donations and $185.65 from Google Adsense: total $330.65, versus expenditure of $13 for bank fees. Cash in the bank at end September was $1,481.65. Income to come from Google next month from October ads was just on US$110: around A$120, depending on the exchange rate on the day of payment (30 Nov) - possibly 1:1 by then, who knows?
