How the Left's backflip on the Food for Oil scandal helps Howard

"Today's Herald Poll confirms the extraordinary fact that most voters can disbelieve the Government on a prominent issue and yet maintain their levels of support for the Government and the Prime Minister."

This is because the Left, which spent months ridiculing the Food for Oil scandal as a right wing beat up to make Koffi Anan and George Galloway and various others look bad, have no moral authority on the matter with which to make political capital.

Oh, and there's the fact that Kim Beazley is still "in charge" of the Federal Labor Party. That cannot help matters.
